She wants you to find a solution for it as soon as possible and you start shaking because you have no idea how to.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\"><strong class=\"c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-5 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">Don\u2019t freeze, we are here to help.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">It is only after you have a well-defined goal that you will know what you need to learn. And you need a question before you can answer it. With right questions come right answers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">Interviewing users is an art you can learn, but is necessary to spend time learning best practices, as Fabricio Teixeria states in his article \u201c<a class=\"link link--blue fontWeight-4\"href=\"https:\/\/uxdesign.cc\/asking-the-right-questions-on-user-research-interviews-and-testing-427261742a67\">Asking the right questions during user research, interviews and testing<\/a>\u201d start creating themes you want to uncover to continue breaking these themes in answerable questions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginTop-xl marginBottom-l c-black lineHeight-xl fontSize-xl fontWeight-5 breakPointM-lineHeight-xxl breakPointM-fontSize-xxl\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\">4. I am not saying this is wrong, but, it is always a but.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">At this initial stage where we need to discover how to find a design solution to a users problem, we better focus on undercover the flow that will lead the user achieve its goal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">This is a scheme that usually helps my team formulate the right questions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s list list--unordered marginBottom-l lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">\n<li>Ask the right people: Not everybody is suitable, forget the idea of getting a pen and a notebook and go out to start interviewing the first people you cross paths with. First, be aware who your audience is.<\/li>\n<li>Ask open questions: Let them express themselves, don\u2019t ask closed questions. Give users some space to explain their thoughts, as opposed to asking binary questions.<\/li>\n<li>What you want to know? The big question is what you want to learn, not what you actually ask. In fact, asking directly your big question doesn\u2019t work, people are afraid to reveal their inner behaviour, but they will tell you indirectly what they are looking for when describing their habits.<\/li>\n<li>Travel to the past. A good way to learn about your users' habits is to ask them to explain what they did in a past given moment. They will remember successful and frustrating past experiences that will unfold critical experiences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginTop-xl marginBottom-l c-black lineHeight-xl fontSize-xl fontWeight-5 breakPointM-lineHeight-xxl breakPointM-fontSize-xxl\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\">5. I remember I was engaged in the conversation at a point that I almost did not let my uncles talk, and on their favour I have to say that they both have a phd in economics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pageWrap pageWrap--s marginBottom-m paddingBottom-s c-slate lineHeight-l fontSize-l fontWeight-3 breakPointM-fontSize-xl breakPointM-lineHeight-xl\">My octogenarian grandmother was nearby listening. If they click the cart icon they expect to add the item to a shopping list, if they click the plus icon they expect to add another item to the list, and so on. It involves going directly to a source \u2014 usually customers and prospective customers in your target market \u2014 to ask questions and gather information. Design is an exchange of value.
